Standing on the hill, she watched the waves crashing from the ocean below her. The sound was like white noise, as the waves broke against the hard, red rock and then fell back into the water. Her own heart was beating in time to the sounds. She was happy in this spot. The sky was blue, and the ground her bare feet stood upon was a mix of soft dirt and new grass.
Within a moment, when she thought that nothing could harm her, she heard a swish of wings, and an eagle came soaring towards her. In her last moment, she could see the beautiful golden red and brown feather, and the white on its head. She sighed, and the eagle reached for her with its talons, lifted her not more than a few inches off the ground, and let go.
She fell into the water, and smiled for the last time before letting her body and heart become one with the ocean.
